QuadJobs: Getting Help During & After Quarantine! | Nantucket Moms

Anyone else need help now with groceries, tutoring during homeschooling or other errands? Or are you planning on hiring some extra hands *as-soon-as-possible* post-quarantine for babysitting and other household tasks? Previously, we’ve shared about one of our favorite mom tools, QuadJobs, a business that matches college students with people (many moms!) who need help with everything from errands to babysitting. During the coronavirus crisis, founder Andra Newman says that she started getting inundated with offers to help in any way possible from the 40,000 students who work through their platform.

In an effort to help communities across the US, cofounders Andra Winokur Newman and Betsy O’Reilly, moms based in Greenwich, CT, decided to take the unprecedented step of making posts requesting help free by using code COMMUNITY when posting. “We made the site free, for this period of quarantine, because we knew that there was a need and we could help fill it,” says Andra. She says for her and QuadJobs, helping other small businesses and nonprofits are a priority.  “QuadJobs has the ability to connect them with college students who are looking for ways to help and for ways to replace on campus jobs or internships or experiential learning opportunities which may have been cancelled.  There is no better time to bring these groups together,” says Andra.

As her own company weathers this storm, she hopes their unique business model can help be part of solutions for employers, and for the students helping them. Says Andrea: “We always hope that QuadJobs can provide employers in search of help with an efficient, easy way to connect with students in search of opportunities.  Right now, this goal is more important than ever.”
